Toenail Fungus Laser Treatment
Summer is right around the corner…perhaps here in South Louisiana. And while many look forward to the beach trips and seasonal getaways, others dread the thought of sandals and bare feet. If you’re one of the many considering hiding your fungal toenail problem this summer, consider laser nail fungus treatment. It’s quick, painless, and more successful than any topical or oral medication. At Gulf South Foot and Ankle, we use a PinPointe FootLaser machine to treat all cases of toenail fungus. Here’s what you need to know about it.

Treatment Options
Four Treatments
In order to completely eliminate toenail fungus, as well as prevent the fungus from re-developing, we recommend visiting our office once a month for four months. Although receiving treatment over the course of four months sounds like a lengthy process, it provides the highest success rate in completely treating the fungal issue. In addition to laser treatment, this package includes one bottle of topical antifungal medication, one bottle of FugiFoam, one bottle of Clean Sweep, and a 6-month follow up appointment to ensure that your treatment is successful. This treatment option is typically offered for the price of $1,200; however, we are currently offering a $300 discount if you sign up between June and August!
Three Treatments
Similar to the four treatment package, this will require you to visit the podiatrist once a month for three months. You will also receive a bottle of topical antifungal medication and a 6-month follow up appointment. We offer this package for $900.
Two Treatments
This package includes two visits to the podiatrist, in addition to a bottle of topical antifungal medication and 6-month follow up appointment. This treatment package costs $750.
Treatment Results
It typically takes 6-9 months before the patient will begin to see results from the laser treatment. This is because the nail has to regrow once treatment is complete. Although these results take time, topical and oral medications take just as long – if not longer – to eliminate the fungal problem. In some cases, they may even serve as only short-term treatment methods.
Overall, the toenail fungus laser treatment provides the best results with the fewest side effects. To learn more about the benefits of laser treatment for toenail fungus, or to discuss the treatment option that’s best for you, contact our clinic today.
