Are You Experiencing Pain Between Your Toes?

Updated: Jul 29, 2020

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, the holidays are now in full swing. This is such a fun time of year, but it’s also a fairly busy time. We typically increase our activity with shopping, parties, and holiday events, which tends to be the time of year that I see more women suffering from painful nerves to the balls of the feet. Typically, women tend to wear narrower high heels or ballet flats with minimal forefoot support this time of year with holiday parties, etc. This pain is usually consistent with a sharp pain between the toes, commonly the 3rd and 4th toes; however, the pain can occur between any of the toes. This ends up leaving the toes numb or tingling at times when bearing weight or with increased activity in certain shoe gear. One may also experience the feeling of walking on a “hot poker” or having shooting pain in the ball of the foot. These symptoms can be addressed conservatively and/or surgically if needed.

Make an appointment with Gulf South Foot & Ankle today if you have any of these symptoms, so that we can help you comfortably get back on your feet.
